A RETIRED Chard woman has had her car broken into for the second time after moving it to a town car park.
Mary Bustle, who is retired, was told to move her car from the public spaces outside her home at Harveys Homes on High Street, as they were restricted time use only.
But within just a week her car had been vandalised.
She said: "When I first moved in three years ago, I was told there was no residents parking and to park in Combe Street with a season ticket.
"Within two to three months it had been vandalised and I was without a car for about six weeks.
"After that I thought blow it, and hoped for the best in the spaces outside my home.
"Now it's been over two years and we are told to move them again."
Mary moved her car to Crowshute Car Park in the town and, on the weekend of July 28, found it vandalised.
She added: "It will be extremely difficult to not have a car as I have arthritis and can't walk very far.
"There's not really a lot I can do now, it is drivable at the moment but I thought I'd keep leaving it in the car park until the tax and things run out and I'll just have to rely on taxi's then I guess.
South Somerset District Council is in charge of the town's car parks and deals with parking issues.
Julia Dean, spokesman for the district council, said: "This is not a known problem in the area and it seems that these two cases of vandalism are isolated incidents, that have unfortunately happened to the same person."
