Police appeal for witnesses following fatal accident

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision near Chard yesterday (Tuesday) evening.

Shortly after 9.10pm, a motorcyclist and a tractor and trailer collided on the B3167 Perry Street.

Unfortunately, the rider of the motorcycle, a local man in his 50's, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The tractor was turning into a field, and the motorcycle, a Harley Davidson, was travelling in the Chard direction, when the collision occurred.
