A VEHICLE was completely destroyed and a garage damaged after a suspected arson attack in Chard.
Two fire engines were sent to a Henson Park in Chard at 3.39am today (August 24) after a number of residents alerted firefighters to a possible vehicle fire.
On arrival crews confirmed a vehicle was well alight and was close to some communal garages.
The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal image camera.
The car was completely destroyed by fire and there was severe fire damage to a garage door, with 10 per cent fire and 70 per cent smoke damage to the contents of the garage.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and the police were also in attendance.
