FIRE crews were called to reports of a fire after some rubbish caught alight.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue crews were called to East Street in Martock around 8.45pm (May 31) last night.

Two engines from Martock and one from Yeovil attended the scene.

On arrival it was found that there had been a small rubbish fire.

There was a small amount of damage to the UPVC French doors and smoke damage to an external wall on the ground floor and one soil pipe was damaged.

It was extinguished using one hose reel jet, one triple extension ladder and a thermal image camera.

The cause of the fire is said to be accidental.
