FIRE crews were called to a house in Chard after reports of smoke coming from a kitchen.
Two engines from Chard and one from Ilminster attended the home in Beckington Crescent around 1.30pm today (March 6).
On arrival the crews confirmed there was a fire involving a tumble dryer within the ground floor kitchen of a two storey end of terrace property.
The tumble dryer and kitchen was slightly damaged by fire and smoke.
The fire was extinguished by fire crews using two breathing apparatus wearers, one hose reel jet, one positive pressure ventilation fan, a thermal image camera and a gas detector.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
