A MAN accused of committing a burglary at a Chard equestrian business has had the case against him adjourned until the New Year.
David John Peck, 42, of Reed Close, Chard, is charged that on August 26 he entered as a trespasser Henry Bowers in Furnham Road, Chard, and stole a cash register containing £155 in cash.
The defendant had been due to appear before Somerset Magistrates, sitting at Yeovil, to enter his plea to the allegation.
However he contacted the court on the morning of the hearing to say he was unwell and unable to attend.
The magistrates agreed to adjourn the case until January 19 when they ordered Peck to attend and said he must bring medical evidence for his absence on the next occasion.
