CROWSHUTE House held their pre-Christmas lunch and celebrated a volunteer who has worked there for more than 20 years.

Manor Court School children sang carols and other songs and Les Beresford played music and sang.

The deputy mayor, Cllr Gary Shortland presented the raffle prizes.

Glenys Pattemore was then presented with an engraved vase and a bouquet of flowers by the deputy mayor, to mark her retirement as a volunteer at Crowshute lunches for the past 21 years.

The last 16 years she has worked with current lunch organiser Sue Biddle every Wenesday and Friday.

Mrs Biddle said: "Now at the age of 83, she has decided to step back and let the the younger ones carry on the good work. Thank you Glenys for your commitment and loyalty and I wish her a well earned rest."
