PUPILS at Winsham Primary School successfully sang 100 carols in one day as the school term drew to a close.

Children were challenged by Gill Spence, chairman of governors to sing 100 carols in a day in their quest to raise money for new school IT equipment.

Winsham pupils and staff rose to the occasion.

Mrs Hallett arranged a set of 20 carols which pupils sang five times throughout the day at different venues in the village.

A school spokesman said: “Pupils donned their Christmas hats and started by singing by visiting the residents of Davies Close, they crammed themselves into the village shop and then then visited the Jubilee Hall Café.

“By lunchtime the pupils had raised a whopping £120.

“The school pupils, staff, parents and governors would like to thank everybody for donating.”
