MORE than 30 keen fundraisers have spun up more than £200 for charity by completing a four hour sponsored spinathon.

Staff and customers at 1610 Chard, in Jarman Way, came together on Sunday to complete the cycling challenge and raise money for 1610's charity of the year, the mental health charity Mind.

Fitness instructor Liz Wallace organised the event.

She said: "There were a variety of different characters from the gym and a variety of younger and middle aged people.

"It was a really good day. We were there from 9.30am until 1.30pm and bottoms on saddles the whole time. There is still a bit of money coming in.

"I like to get people to come together and a nice variety of people. There were quite a few that thought they didn't know if they could do it and they were all elated and delighted to say they did."
