A VEHICLE was almost totally destroyed in a fire outside a farm last night (Sunday, October 2).

Firefighters were called to tackle the blaze near Street Farm, Horn Lane, near Winsham, at 10.13pm.

The vehicle was well alight on their arrival and they put it out using two breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal image camera, together with small tools and a compressed air foam jet.

The vehicle was 90 per cent fire damaged and 100 per cent smoke damaged in the incident, which is believed to have been started accidentally.

It was removed from the highway to a verge by a local farmer and the owner was in attendance.
