A CHARD woman accused of assaulting a man during an incident in the town has been ordered to stand trial before Somerset Magistrates.
Rebecca Louise Smith, 27, of Old Station Court, appeared in the dock before a domestic violence court at Yeovil.
She pleaded not guilty to assaulting the complainant by beating him at Henson Park in Chard on August 15.
Prosecutor Joanne Pearce said that the alleged victim had refused to make a statement and the prosecution was relying on witness statements.
A review of the case was conducted and the matter was adjourned until November 7, when the defendant must return to the court to stand trial.
In the meantime she was given unconditional bail.
