FIRE SERVICES rushed to a home in Chard this morning after reports of an alarm sounding.
One fire engine from Chard was called to the scene in Bradfield Way shortly after 10am today (September 11).
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service received a call from a careline reporting a fire alarm sounding.
On arrival crews confirmed there had been an alarm sounding due to a fire in the kitchen involving food on the cooker that was out on arrival.
Crews ventilated the property and used a thermal imaging camera and carbon monoxide monitor to ensure the property was safe before leaving the incident.
