NICE WEATHER is good news for Greenfylde First School has it has held two sports day on the school's pitch at the recreation ground.

The first day saw a mix of traditional and non-traditional races as the children competed to gain points for their colour team.

Families surrounded the park as a large number of people came out to support the children. The parents even joined in with their own relay event.

The second day focused on the field events and the children supporting each other to reach their personal bests.

Claire Oaten, Headteacher, said: "Sports and their associated well being are very important for our pupils but above all taking part in sports needs to be fun.

"Having this balance between competitive and non-competitive events allows our children to explore a wider range of activities and find where they can thrive.

"We are very proud of our commitment to an active lifestyle at Greenfylde and are constantly seeking to build on the Silver Kitemark for School Sports that we attained earlier in the year."
