THANK YOU to the Chard and Ilminster News for their article on June 8 entitled Warning on dogs in cars.
With the generous and valuable support of local Cllr Amanda Broom, Somerset District Council and many local shops and cafes, once again this year we have managed to highlight the risks of leaving dogs alone in parked cars at this time of year.
I have written to all district, borough and unitary authorities throughout the UK and To date 40 councils have agreed to support the RSPCA campaign by using posters and social media.
I hope that the campaign gains momentum and grows year on year so people are reminded of this throughout the warmer months.
