BRIAN Heaton was both caller and musician at the June 23 meeting of the club.

He called several dances from the 17th and 18th centuries, such as Jack’s Maggot, Guidman of Ballangigh, Newcastle, interspersed with other slightly younger but still traditional dances. There were the usual refreshments but no raffle. Instead there was a mini bring and buy table.

The next meeting of the club, on Thursday at the usual venue of Combe St. Nicholas Village Hall, will take the form of a summer party and dance.
