HOLYROOD Academy pupils bid an emotional farewell to the school at their leavers celebrations.
The year 13 students will now be heading on to pastures new, with some going to university or straight into work, and a celebratory event was held at Monk's Yard for the goodbye.
The students had been at Holyrood for seven years, and this year, 62 per cent of the year group have applied for university places including Cardiff, Exeter, Bath, Bristol, Brunel, Plymouth, Belfast, UWE, Gloucester, Reading, Winchester and Swansea to read subjects such as Engineering, English literature, Law, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Criminology, Music Technology, Geography, History, Fashion Design and Drama.
There are also well-earned higher apprenticeships and direct entry into employment awaiting all other students.
Karen Seib, head of Holyrood sixth form, said: “We wish every student success in their chosen career.
"We are proud of their hard work and determination during their time with us and feel sure that they are well prepared for their next stage.”
At the party, students donned their best and dresses and suits, with speeches, gifts and pearls of wisdom passed on to them by their tutors.
On Friday 27th May Monk’s Yard hosted the emotional farewell lunch of Holyrood’s Year 13 students and their tutors.
