A MAN and a dog have been rescued from a car after it crashed into a lamp post near Chard this morning.
The fire service were called to the crash at around 11.30am near the Poppe Inn, Axminster Road, Tatworth.
Two fire engines were sent from Chard and one from Axminster to the crash. Ferne Animal Sanctuary were also called to collect a dog from the scene.
Police and paramedics were also called to scene, and the the man was seen to by paramedics before being taken to Musgrove Park hospital by ambulance.
