THE Friends of Essex House Medical Centre are celebrating after they raised more then £8,000 in the last year.
Rose Kneil, the group’s secretary, said: “We have had a very successful year and have made purchases for the surgery, or donated money to them totalling a magnificent £8,232.71.
“We are very grateful to all the people who have supported us and made this possible. We could not do it without you.
“We have sadly had to say goodbye to our treasurer of eight years Mrs Carol Ward. The committee would like to thank her very much.
The Friends of Essex House are now looking for a new treasurer and new committee members.

Their next fundraising event is being held on June 4, when they will again be appearing at Chris’ Popular Fayre in Chard Guildhall.
