CHARD and Ilminster are both set for an overcast day today before the rain sweeps in tomorrow.

In their South West summary, Met Office said: "Today will be a cloudier day than yesterday with some showery outbreaks of rain pushing east, these will be most prevalent during the morning.

"Brighter conditions may well develop across Devon and Cornwall later in the day."

The maximum temperature is set to reach around 9°C, before falling to a minimum of 1°C overnight.

The weather will take a turn for the worse at the weekend, as rain is expected all day on Saturday, with Sunday due to be dry and cold, with the temperature peaking at around 5°C.

Tomorrow's forecast said: "A cloudy and damp day with outbreaks of rain, and perhaps for a time some rather windy conditions. The rain may turn wintry over the Moors before easing later."

The temperature is set to peak at around 8°C tomorrow.
