POLICE are appealing for witnesses regarding two household burglaries in Ilminster.

Officers have launched an investigation after two homes in the town were broken with a quantity of jewellery and electricals stolen.

The burglaries took place in the Lower Horton and Stocklinch area of the town sometime on January 13, but police are only just now releasing the details.

PC 4145 Jim Card from Yeovil Police Station said: “I would be interested to hear from anyone who has information about these two incidents.

“Burglary is both a priority for the constabulary and the PCC.

“We know that being burgled can be very traumatic and unsettling.

“We want to try and prevent this type of crime from happening at all and the public can play a huge part in helping us to help them and taking some really simple crime prevention measures can really help deter opportunist thieves.

“We are also committed to detecting these crimes and bringing offenders to justice, so I do appeal to the public to get in touch if you have any information at all about these incidents, even if you think it might be small or insignificant.

“Sometimes those are the details that really make a difference to an investigation.”
