A CHARD man waiting to stand trial accused of assaulting his girlfriend and another male has appeared in court again charged with harassing her.

Kieran Marc Sydney Finn allegedly contacted the victim sending her numerous messages including threatening to send intimate photographs of her to her family and friends and set her parents’ house on fire.

Finn, 22, of Coker Way, was brought before Somerset Magistrates in custody after being arrested by police.

He was charged that between November 8 and 12 he pursued a course of conduct amounting to the harassment of Charlotte Clist but did not enter a plea.

He was also charged with a separate matter of assaulting Stephen Joe McQueen by beating him during an incident in Chard on April 30 this year which he denied.

The court was told that Finn had previously appeared in court charged with assaulting Charlotte Clist causing her actual bodily harm between October 9 and 12 at Chard and damaging a Sony Experia mobile phone worth £300 belonging to her on October 11 He was also alleged to have assaulted George Hall causing him actual bodily harm on October 10. All of those three matters were adjourned for him to stand trial at Taunton Crown Court.

Prosecutor Lucy Coleman said the most recent offence of harassment was committed in breach of his bail conditions after he had been ordered not to have any contact with Miss Glist.

Defending solicitor Sam Morton said that Finn, who suffered from mental health issues, maintained that it was Miss Glist who had contacted him via the social networking app Snapchat and he had stupidly engaged in contact with her.

The offence of harassment was adjourned until December 14 when Finn must appear at Taunton Crown Court and until then he was remanded in custody after the magistrates rejected an application for bail.

The allegation of assaulting Stephen McQueen was adjourned until February 1 when the defendant must return to the court at Yeovil to stand trial before the magistrates and for that matter he was given technical unconditional bail.
