The fire and rescue service was called out
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue have been called into action to fight a fire near Crewkerne.
In a statement the service said: "Two fire appliances from Martock and one from Crewkerne were mobilised to numerous 999 calls reporting a barn fire at Merriott.
"On the arrival of the fire service it was discovered a large amount of hay well alight with a farm building and another three fire appliances were mobilised.
"Part of the building has collapsed due to the fire and fire fighters are monitoring the situation. Two calves were rescued from the building but a further 10 were pronounced dead at the scene. This incident is ongoing."
