A TWO-DAY beginners’ course for people interested in Family History will be held at the Boden Centre in Chard.

The course will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015, and Friday, October 9, 2015, from 10am to 4pm.

Course tutor Jane Ferentzi-Sheppard, from Somerset Skills and Learning CIC, said: “We will look at Civil Registration of Birth, Marriage and Deaths from 1837 and the Census from 1841-1911 which will give you the possibility to research your family back to the 1840s.

“The new TV series of Who Do You Think You Are? has again showed what wonderful stories are out there for us to discover about our ancestors.

“So if you are interested in starting your family history research then do think about joining a course and see how to go about it.”

Jane added: “Family history is a great hobby – you learn so many new skills and uncover all sorts of family secrets, good and bad!”
