THE Learning Centre at Holyrood Academy in Chard has developed a new reading scheme through the creation of a dozen “free range” books which they have “set free” across the school site.
These brand new books have been placed around the site for students to find, read and then leave for someone else to enjoy.
Intrigued as to where the “free range” books will end up, the books have been placed in transparent cases showing a happy hen on the front and containing a nest of paper eggs.
Students are expected to return the eggs to let staff know who has read the book and where it has been left.
