DRY weather and sunshine is set for Chard for the rest of the week, and throughout the weekend.

For today, Met Office have forecast some cloudy spells with mostly sunshine.

The South West summary of the Met Office website said: "A dry start for many with early cloud soon clearing the east, allowing sunny spells to develop. There'll be a few showers around, these perhaps becoming more frequent during the middle of the day. It will remain breezy."

However, it looks like Chard and Ilminster will avoid any wet spells with chance of rain not rising above 10 per cent from today through to Monday.

The temperature in the area is set to peak at around 16°C.

For tomorrow, the Met Office forecast said: "A chilly start, though with plenty of early sunshine. There'll be some patchy cloud around but all parts will remain dry with sunny spells throughout. Winds will stay light."

The maximum temperature will be 17°C.
