COMBE St Nicholas Primary School welcomed Yeovil MP Marcus Fysh who presented certificates to budding film-makers.

Mr Fysh was given a tour of the school by new headteacher Christine Maxwell.

He then presented certificates to Brandon, Charlotte and George who were part of the film-making team for the school’s entry in the Lights, Camera, Parliament competition.

Combe came fourth from around 200 entries and was also highly commended for its efforts.

The competition asked young people aged from seven to 18 to tell Parliament what new law they would introduce in the UK in a three-minute film.

Combe pupils made a film highlighting their proposed law of limiting the placement of solar panels to non-agricultural land.

Mr Fysh congratulated the school on producing such an excellent film and commended them on their views.
