A TORRENTIAL downpour will hit the whole of Somerset this morning, with the Met Office being forced to issue yellow weather warnings.
The poor weather, which consists of heavy rain, poor visibility and humid conditions is due to continue through lunchtime up until around 3:00pm, but could last until as late as 5:00pm.
The Met Office have also issued a risk of thunder, with lightning as an additional hazard.
Humidity is due to remain above 90% until 4:00pm and will not drop below 79% at all today.
As the rain eases in the middle of the afternoon it is due to move eastward.
Currently, there are no traffic incidents in the Chard area, despite the reduce visibility and tougher driving conditions brought on by the heavy rain.
