PREMIER League footballer Ben Hamer hopes his achievements can inspire students at his former school – Holyrood Academy in Chard – to reach for their goals.

Ben, who is a goalkeeper with Leicester City, was delighted to find out that an inspirational new poster, designed by Holyrood technician Serena Cambridge, had gone on display.

“Budding footballers across the region can achieve their dreams – if they dream big enough,” said the poster along with the words “support, motivate, inspire, challenge, achieve.”

The theme of Serena’s work has focused on celebrating past students’ success and she based the poster design on the recently refined Holyrood brand of shields of black, gold, white and red.

Ben was born in Chard and his success has fascinated many local people. The goalkeeper popped in to Holyrood to see the posters having just returned from the USA and before jetting off to Austria.

He was delighted that they might encourage and inspire current students in their commitment to succeed.

“Wow! The photo is almost life-size,” he said. “I hope it shows that anyone can achieve their dream!”
