STAFF and governors from Neroche Primary School have marked 30 years not out for one dedicated member of staff.
Carole Burgess’s three decades of continuous service as the school’s caretaker was celebrated with a meal and skittles night at the Bell Inn, Broadway.
During her 30 years at Neroche, over 1,000 children and four different headteachers have passed through the school gates.
Carole, who lives in Ashill, was presented with a commemorative Dartington Crystal Vase and a bunch of flowers from the school staff and governing body.
Neroche head teacher Connel Boyle said: “In today’s modern world of work, serving any employer for 30 years is a real achievement. I am hoping we will be celebrating her 40th year of service in the future and many of us will still be here.”
