EXCITEMENT is building at Ferne Animal Sanctuary near Chard for its Easter Eggstravaganza.

It is promising something for everyone with more than 20 real bunny rabbits and numerous other animals to see, as well as an Easter treasure trail, Easter open day and the chance to take part making Easter crafts.

Events start with a daily treasure trail from March 28 to April 12 at £1 each – maps are available from the main reception in the new re-homing centre.

Once all the treasure is found, children can report back to reception to claim their chocolate prizes given by Tesco, Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and The Co-operative Food stores.

The Sanctuary’s Easter open day is on Saturday, April 4, between 11am-4pm.

Entry is £5 adults and £2 children over three.

A free shuttle bus will be available from Crowshute car park, next to Sainsbury’s in Chard. This will run to and from the Sanctuary, starting at 10.45am, and the last bus will leave the Sanctuary at 4pm.

Easter craft making, courtesy of Hobbycraft, will be on offer in the site’s education room over the whole Easter Weekend from Good Friday to Easter Monday. These activities are free but donations are welcome.
