Chard police have issued a description of a man they would like to speak to after a woman was mugged while pushing her child in a pushchair.
The incident occurred while the woman was heading towards the Tesco store from Henson Park through Stringfellow Park.
As she walked by the garages near Stringfellow Park, the woman noticed a male.
He is described as having a tanned complexion, aged around 18, about 5ft 4 of slim build with short dark hair. He wore a green coat and black trousers.
A police spokesman said: “This man followed her and as she was halfway through Stringfellow Park, he grabbed her handbag from the handles of the pram and ran off towards Tesco.
“A total of £105 was stolen, along with some cards in the victim’s name. The bag stolen was a black leather-effect with a shoulder strap.”
The incident took place on Sunday, February 8, at around 10.30am.
If anyone has any details they are urged to call PC David Jeeves at Chard on 101, and quote reference 13639/15.
