SPECSAVERS in Chard has helped children stay safe by giving high visibility vests to a local group.
The store gave the vests to children at the local Brownies group to promote safety when walking near the roads and at night ahead of Road Safety Week, an initiative by the charity Brake.
Stephen Watson, director of the store at 2 Fore Street, said: “We want to make sure that children are safe and visible at night. We hope our donation will help keep parents’ minds at ease when they’re escorting their children in the dark.”
Brake is a national road safety charity which aims to prevent deaths and injuries on roads through campaigns and other funding.
It also promotes safe and sustainable road use and effective road safety policies.
