POLICE are appealing for witnesses after three men broke into a petrol station in Ilminster.

The suspects broke into the Tesco garage on Friday night and took a "large quantity" of cigarettes.

An Avon and Somerset spokesman said: "We were called at 11.20pm on Friday January 9 to Tesco petrol station on Ditton Street.

"Three men were seen to break into the filling station and take a large quantity of cigarettes and we believe they left in a vehicle.

"Officers have carried out face to face investigations and we are currently reviewing CCTV. We would urge witnesses to call the police on 101 and quote the reference 3139/15."
