STAFF from Barclays in Chard and Ilminster have had a busy October supporting local charities and organisations as part of the global Make a Difference campaign.

They have been spending time in the Age UK shop in Chard, helping to sort out and price clothes, collecting donations for the food banks in Ilminster and the Lords Larder in Chard, and raising money for the Chard Area Youth Community.

Both branches regularly open up their doors and invite local businesses in to promote their goods in the banking hall and run Tea & Teach sessions for customers who need support with technology.

Zoe Horne, from the bank, said: “Barclays has a fantastic community investment programme that encourages employees to get involved in the charities and causes that are important to them. It’s about giving back our skills, time and energy to support our local communities, so we’re thrilled to have helped so many local organisations and, of course, our customers.”
