A CHARD man has died after a road accident on the outskirts of the town on Monday morning.
Paul McQueen, who was 38, was walking on the A358 at Hornsbury Hill in the early hours when he was in collision with a Rover 416.
He later died in Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
A section of the A358 was closed in both directions while a police collision investigation unit examined the scene.
Mr McQueen lived with his wife and children in Mintons.
His father, Ronnie McQueen, owns the watch repair shop R.McQueen and Son in Ditton Street, Ilminster, but was too upset to speak to the News yesterday (Tuesday).
