TWO youth groups in Chard are jumping for joy this week after finding out they were in line for a cash boost.
Somerset County Council has dished out £108,000 in grant to 28 youth clubs across the county to help with current and future projects.
The Zone Youth Club, in Chard, was awarded £3,360 for an evening youth club while Chard After School drop-in received £3,910 towards its dayto- day running costs.
Cabinet member for children and young people, Cllr Frances Nicholson, said the grants are to help support youth clubs so they can, in turn, support their communities.
Josh Bennett and William Duncan are members of the Youth Parliament Advisory Group who live in South Somerset.
They said: “We feel the grantgiving process has been carried out very well. South Somerset has received a large amount of grants and youth clubs can continue to operate.”
