Drivers warned to be cautious on winter roads

SEVERE weather conditions have led to an alarming increase in serious road traffic collisions in the past month.

Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is urging all road users to take extra care after attending several serious incidents relating to weather conditions.

A Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We have found most recently that significant contributing factors to these RTCs have been the weather conditions and light levels.

"We strongly recommend drivers reduce their road speeds whilst travelling around the county's roads".
