DAMAGE to the electrics at Chard Baptist Church
'MINDLESS morons' have vandalised Christmas lights in Chard town centre.
The festive lights at Chard Baptist Church in Holyrood Street are off because the electrics have been destroyed.
The damage is a bitter blow to lights committee chairman Jill Watts, whose committee has worked tirelessly throughout the year.
Jill said: "It's just mindless morons. I can't believe somebody has done this after all the effort we went to. I didn't think anyone would be so stupid."
On a positive note, the committee has benefited from a £100 donation from the Kelly Leigh School of Dance, based in Chard and Tatworth.
Jill added: "I'm really delighted with that and I'd like to thank them very much. I know those girls need the funds, too."
