HOUSEHOLDERS in Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne will be on their own once their recycling calendars run out, it emerged this week.
South Somerset District Council has said it doesn't make financial sense to keep reprinting and sending calendars showing when to put out the various bins for kerbside collection.
People who have moved into a house in the district will be provided with details of collection times and information is also available from the council on 01935-462462, or from the authority's website - click on the link below.
The issue was raised after residents in St Peter's Close, Horton, complained that their calendars had run out and people were guessing at when to put out bins.
Council spokesman Stewart Willes said that when calendars run out, the collections will continue as before.
He added: "Unless people are moving house or are new to the area, we wont be sending out calendars because otherwise we would have to send to all 77,000 properties in the district each year.
"That would be a great expense to the taxpayer and would divert funds we could put into improving the service."
Mr Willes said details on amendments to collections due to bank holidays would be published in the News - click on the link for details on Christmas recycling information
