AN announcement about who has been awarded the contract to develop the Boden Mill site as part of the Chard regeneration scheme will be made in the near future.
South Somerset District Council says plans for a formal announcement are nearing completion.
Earlier this month, the council's district executive agreed - behind closed doors - to the disposal of its land in Chard, comprising of Boden Mill, the former ACI Factory site, Marketfields and Boden Street car parks.
It is believed that the winning bidder for the contract is a developer rather than a supermarket chain.
