A LANDLORD at a Chard pub has quashed rumours it is to close.
Ken Mason, of the Furnham Inn, said yesterday (Tuesday) he has no plans to leave after untrue gossip was spread on social networking site Facebook.
The News also received an anonymous e-mail on Monday evening claiming the pub was closing.
Mr Mason said: “To be putting out malicious rumours at the moment is not nice – it is hard enough as it is.
“We have several skittles, darts and pool teams and are still here trading as usual – we have bookings running throughout the year.”
