CUSTOMERS at the Square 1 Brasserie in Ilminster had more than they bargained for this morning when they were joined for breakfast by the Prime Minister David Cameron!
Mr Cameron and his wife Samantha, along with their children, popped into Ilminster for breakfast en route to Cornwall for a holiday.
And Square 1 owner Chris Hawkins said: “It was a bit of a shock to see them walk in!”
Chris added: “I had a quick chat with them and I helped to put the world to rights, but the Cameron family were lovely and very pleasant.
“The Prime Minister even took time to talk to my customers who were obviously pretty surprised to see him.”
After breakfast at Square 1, the Prime Minister took a stroll around Ilminster – much to the amazement of shoppers - before heading back on his journey.
And so…what did the Prime Minister and his family have for breakfast?
Chris said: “They enjoyed bacon rustic rolls and toasted tea cakes washed down with cappuccino and hot chocolate for the children.”
