Old Station targeted by arsonists
THE Old Station in Chard was targeted in an arson attack last night.
Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke billowing from the derelict building, in Great Western Road, at about 9.30pm.
They tackled the fire wearing breathing apparatus and used one hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
A fire spokesman said the damage was limited and confined to a small pile of rubbish.
The cause was confirmed as deliberate ignition and the police were informed.
