GREEN-FINGERED groups in Chard are being given the chance to show off their horticultural skills.
The Chard in Bloom committee has launched a neighbourhood awards competition to recognise the floral efforts of people in the town.
The competition is open to gardening fans of all ages, from community projects and organisations, to groups of neighbours, and can involve anything from flowerbeds to vegetable patches.
A special award will also be handed out to the team most committed to clearing up their neighbourhood.
Judging will take place on July 31 and a special awards ceremony is due to be held in September.
Chard in Bloom committee member Doreen Toms said: “It's about people getting together to improve their environment.
“We're hoping for lots of entries - the more the merrier.”
Entries must be submitted by June 23 - for more details contact Chard in Bloom secretary Sandra Pittwood on 01460-67481.
