Boxing Day lunch planned for Crowshute House

A SPECIAL Boxing Day event has been planned for people in Chard who will be alone over Christmas.

A Christmas dinner with all the trimmings will be available at Crowshute House on December 26 for those who are in need or who would normally spend the festive season on their own.

The meal will be served at 1pm with festive activities such as carol singing taking place from 11.30am.

Andrew Conlon, of the co-org-anisers, Forefront Community Church, said: “It’s more than just a meal – we have lots of other things going on throughout the day.

“We’re inviting anyone, or indeed any family, who will be on their own to come along – everybody’s welcome.”

The event is ticket only, priced £3.50 for adults and £1 for children, available from Forefront Community Church in Fore Street or by calling 01460-66080.
