AN Ilminster pre-school activity scheme has won a national award after beating off fierce competition that saw over 14,000 votes cast.

Gymboree Ilminster and Taunton picked up Best National Pre-schooler Development Activity in the What’s On 4 Little Ones Awards 2009.

Ruth Moran, of Gymboree, said: “We are thrilled and would like to thank the thousands of Gymboree families who took the time to vote for us.”

Gymboree, which has groups in Ilminster and Taunton, provides interactive classes for children aged five and under based on ‘learning through play’.

The award program is sponsored by children’s food company Organix and supported by Prima Baby magazine.
