THE launch of Film Crewkerne is to be held on June 11 at Wadham Community School.

Film Crewkerne, or Film Crew as it is known for short, will meet monthly on a Thursday with films being shown at 7.30pm with refreshments available from 7pm.

The launch is scheduled for Thursday June 11th with the screening of ‘The Duchess’ based on the true story of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, an ancestor of the late Diana Princess of Wales. Visually stunning, this lavish romantic period drama stars Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes.

The venue is to be Wadham School hall, which, with its tiered seating and giant screen, should make for superb viewing!

Film Crew’s Julia Crichton-Smith said: “The film club will aim to cater for a wide range of tastes and hopes to offer the people of Crewkerne and surrounding villages the chance to see world class cinema on their doorstep on the big screen!” At the launch, the likely programme for the year will be revealed and there will be an opportunity to take out a year’s membership for £20. It will also be possible to bring guests and pay at the door. Anyone who joins Film Crew on the night of the launch will have the £4 cost of their ticket deducted from their membership fee.

Tickets can also be purchased from the Community Office at Crewkerne Town Hall or by phoning Katy Limmer on 01460-271227.
