ROBERT Hurst and Dr Victoria Maltby PhD were married at the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Buckland St Mary, on January 19.

The couple live in Weston Longville, near Norwich, and the Rev Preb Christopher Saralis conducted the service.The organist was David House, and the choir was from Colyton Grammar School.The bridegroom, a chartered surveyor, is the son of John and Julia Hurst of Morton on the Hill, Norfolk. The bride, a Doctor of Philosophy, is an Agricultural Project Manager, and the daughter of Richard and Margaret Maltby of Bishopswood, near Chard.Given in marriage by her father, Victoria wore an ivory silk and organza gown with a pearl encrusted bodice, bolero jacket and train. She carried a bouquet of cymbidium and dendrobium orchids, lily of the valley, ivory roses and pearls.She was attended by twin sister Charlotte Maltby, and Verity Wearmouth, the bridegroom's niece, aged two-and-a-half. Charlotte wore a gold organza and silk floor length skirt and an embroidered bodice, while Verity wore an ivory silk embroidered dress with a fur bolero.Charlotte's bouquet was of cymbidium and dendrobium orchids and beargrass, Verity carrying a wand with a gold star and orchids.Robert's best man was Richard van Beuningen, and the ushers were Hedley Price, Nick Sellors, James Hadden, Rob Hamilton, Simon Wearmouth, Richard Martin, Rob Green and William van Beuningen.Robert, Richard, the ushers and the gentlemen all wore black tie for the occasion. The bride's mother wore a gold floor-length evening skirt with a puddle train, bodice and matching jacket.A champagne reception for 110 guests was held at Fishponds House, Dunkeswell, followed by a three-course formal dinner and dancing at the same venue.The honeymoon will be spent in New York and St Lucia in the Caribbean.
