VEHICLES across Chard have been damaged in a spree of overnight destruction.

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a number of vehicles were damaged in the town.

A police spokesman said: "We’re currently aware of seven locations in the town in which vehicles were badly scratched.

"The locations are Mitchell Gardens, Brutton Way, Windsor Crescent, Coronation Street, Chard Manor Farm, St Marys Close and Bubwith Close."

PC Alan Hollick, of the Chard Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We’d urge all Chard residents to check their vehicles for damage and to report it to us if they find any.

“We’re currently completing house to house enquiries at the known locations to gather evidence and to provide reassurance to residents.

“It would really help us if anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious overnight, or anyone with CCTV footage of damage being caused, could get in touch."
