A DEVELOPER has outlined plans to build 162 homes and a new primary school on land adjacent to Brue Farm.
Barratt Homes said it is in the process of preparing a planning application to build 162 new 2, 3 and 4 bed family homes, a new primary school, a new roundabout on Huntspill Road, an accessible public open space and a play area on land adjacent to Huntspill Road, Highbridge.
Sedgemoor District Council has identified the Brue Farm site as a site suitable for delivering up to 950 new homes.
A spokesman for Barratt Homes, said the site would provide 'important pieces of infrastructure' to help service the additional homes, such as a new roundabout, and primary school.
Before submitting a planning application , Barratt Homes are holding a consultation event to get residents views on the plans.
A public exhibition will be held on September 25 at Highbridge Community Hall, on Market Street between 2pm and 7pm.
A spokesman for Barratt Homes said:“We’ve been working on the plans for this site for a number of years, and we’re pleased to be at a point now to share our thoughts with the local community.
“We are looking forward to hearing the community’s views on our proposals, which we feel offer a number of key benefits to the local area.”
